Let's talk about your next project
If you’re not happy with the quality of your photos, our Adelaide graphic design studio has a few tips on how to improve them.
First, start at the source – your own camera. Check the resolution of your photos. If the resolution is too low, they’ll look grainy and blurry, especially when enlarged. You can usually increase the resolution in your camera’s settings.
Another key element of great photos is sharpness. This can be achieved by using a tripod to keep your camera steady, or by using a higher shutter speed to freeze any movement. Once you have your photo lined up perfectly, simply press the shutter button half-way to focus, then finish pressing it down to take the photo.
Then, pay attention to the composition of your photos. This means considering things like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and negative space. By taking the time to compose your shots thoughtfully, you’ll be able to create truly stunning images that are sure to impress. Speak with one of our Adelaide graphic design experts before your shoot and they will be able to suggest how to get the most out of the exercise.
Next, try playing around with the exposure. If your photos are too dark or too light, you can adjust the exposure to get a better result. If you’re not sure how to do this, there are plenty of tutorials online.
Finally, try using photo editing software to improve their quality. Even simple things like cropping or adding a filter can make a big difference.
Avoiding both under and overexposed images, which can look flat and lifeless. Instead, try to achieve a nice balance between light and dark areas in your photos.
If you’re not confident with editing, there are plenty of free online tools that you can use. Just experiment until you find something that you’re happy with.
