woocommerce IN A NUTSHELL

What is WooCommerce used for in Adelaide?

Like the rest of the world, WooCommerce Adelaide applications are most commonly found on retail websites, followed by food and beverage ecommerce sites.
Interestingly, in a cluster of roughly equal sectors that includes information technology, and marketing and advertising websites, we also find WooCommerce is popular with construction companies.
The next tier is:

  • Health, Wellness and Fitness
  • Manufacturing
  • Computer Software

WooCommerce is also popular with organisations such as hospital and healthcare, and education management.
By comparison, the use of the top ranked retail is four times the take up of education.

CRAZY ABOUT STOREFRONTS

Adelaide WooCommerce Specialists

WooCommerce is a popular ecommerce plugin that allows you to easily sell products online.

It is free, popular and it’s open-source – but 99% of people need a professional developer to develop a website that is high performance.

From a starting point, there are different types of stores that can be created on the platform, each with its own set of features and limitations. You need to choose the right option to get the most out of your WooCommerce store.

You can customise your website using different themes and add items such as categories, tags, variations, and custom attributes.

For example, if you have a shop selling t-shirts and you want to offer free shipping for all domestic orders, Boylen web design can customise the store settings to make it free for every country in your shipping zone.

Alternatively, if you’re selling a particular product that is only available overseas but not domestically, you can exclude the product from Domestic Orders.

You can also create multiple shops that are linked through the same product listing.

Beyond simply selling products, WooCommerce can help you manage orders, inventory, and customer data. It’s also easy to integrate with other plugins like PayPal, Google Analytics, and Facebook.

If you are dabbling with a hobby, a DIY WooCommerce digital storefront is all you need to sell online.

But if you are using the WordPress/WooCommerce combination to make serious profits, you would be wise to consult a professional agency – even if it’s just to validate your work.

Who uses WooCommerce – small or large companies?

Don’t think that you can’t use WooCommerce if you are a SME – or worry that it can’t scale up to an enterprise-level solution.

A study by enlyft found that 68% of WooCommerce clients have fewer than 50 employees, 22% were defined as being medium sized.

As far the stellar growth stories, nearly 10% of WooCommerce’s clients have over 1,000 employees.

Staff numbers don’t always reflect online sales volume, so we turned to WooCommerce itself to delve deeper. Your online shop on WooCommerce can handle thousands of transactions per minute. That’s big!

Of course, if your hosting provider can’t keep up, a botleneck forms and the colume may even cause your site to crash. That’s why we host with reputable providers such as Amazon Web Services, who have their servers based onshore in Australia.

WooCommerce Checkout Advice

The WooCommerce checkout page is critical to get right. It’s where customers enter their payment

information to complete their purchase. It can be anything from a simple single-page checkout form with just the customer name and email address to an elaborate multi-step process with several fields.

The most important thing to keep in mind when designing your checkout page is that it needs to be easy for customers to find and understand.

Use clear labels and colours so customers know what they’re looking for. And avoid confusing or overly complex fields because they’ll frustrate customers and lead them to abandon their cart before they’ve made a purchase.

How to Customise WooCommerce Order Tracking

By default, WooCommerce orders are tracked via a simple HTTP request (POST) to your WooCommerce order tracking URL.

But this doesn’t give you much insight into what’s happening behind the scenes. You can customise the way orders are tracked by adding a few additional parameters to your order tracking URL.

There are two methods that you can use:
* Use a POST request with an additional parameter: order_id>.parameter> = ‘value’
* Use a GET request and specify the parameter as a query string: /order_id.parameter = ‘value’

Please note that this is not a recommended method for production environments.
order_id>. parameter> is automatically generated by WooCommerce and can contain any characters, including spaces and dashes.

It’s a good idea to always double-check that the order_id> value is unique and is not being used anywhere else in your site.

If you need to store sensitive information like payment or shipping details, we recommend using SSL to encrypt all data in transit between your web server and customer before it reaches the order_id>.
